Boudoir photography is deeply personal. Every woman who books a boudoir experience has her own unique reason for doing so.

I’ve had women tell me they find my boudoir sessions too expensive—yet these same women have no hesitation about spending thousands on a luxury item like an LV purse. On the flip side, I’ve also had women who don’t see the value in buying designer bags but are more than willing to invest in a boudoir experience.

A common misconception about boudoir photography is that you must bare it all or most. That couldn’t be farther from the truth. What’s closest to the truth is that in any boudoir experience you choose how much or how little skin you’re comfortable showing.

When I tell people I’m a woman’s boudoir photographer, their first reaction is followed by one of two: a brief moment of silence or genuine “oooh!” curiosity. Those who react with a brief silence, are either uncomfortable because they have a generalized idea or because they don’t know much about it.

Boudoir photography has become increasingly popular the last few of years. However, many professional boudoir studios in the San Francisco Bay Area (and world) forget to mention the reasons why you should not book one…yet.
